Sonia Comfort provides a diverse range of executive, administrative and secretariat support to the Council Chairman, members and staff. Her roles include providing direct support to the independent members, preparing briefs and reports, promoting educational material and developing and managing the websites.

She first began her career in Defence in 1998 as a Project Management Assistant in the DMO Night Fighting and Surveillance Project, Project NINOX. After three years she joined the Lightweight Torpedo Project, the Djimindi Alliance as Executive Assistant. Four years later she became the Executive Assistant to Mr Lindsay Kranz, the then Assistant Secretary Personnel Administration (ASPA). Sonia also provided executive support to the recently appointed Head of Personnel Services Division (HPSD), Mr Neville Tomkins.
