Bill TraynorWilliam (Bill) Traynor entered into his career as an Army officer through the Royal Military College, Duntroon. He served in many locations throughout Australia and around the world, including attendance at the Royal Military College of Science at Shrivenham, UK and attendance at the US Army Logistics Management College, followed by an exchange position with the US Army.

In 1993, Bill was promoted to the rank of Brigadier, and spent two years as General Manager of an engineering organisation of 430 staff; two years in Army Headquarters developing Army’s capability requirements; and two years in the personnel field with responsibilities including recruiting, strategic HR and senior officer career management. He retired in 1999 to become Executive Director of the international career transition and change management company, Drake Beam Morin. His work took him to the USA, Canada, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and Dubai as well as extensively throughout Australia. Subsequent to DMB, Bill spent three years as a senior executive with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and with a private company Sarina Russo Job Access. During that time Bill also established a small consulting practice of his own: JobsGoldCoast. He may return to that business later in life.

In 2006 Bill was appointed Assistant Secretary Housing, Relocations, Awards and Amenities in the newly formed Personnel Services Division. His team manages contracts providing housing and relocation services to ADF members and their families; honours and awards for serving and ex-serving ADF members and a range of personnel and amenities support to ADF members including services such as amenities funds support and overseas entertainment tours for deployed personnel. Bill was appointed as a member of the Consumer Council by CDF in July 2007.

Bill holds a Master of Science in Logistics Management, a Graduate Diploma in Management and a Bachelor of Arts. He is also a graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College, the Royal Military College of Science, the US Army Logistic Executive Development Course and the Australian Joint Services Staff College.
